So You May Feel Secure

One of the first songs I wrote during the pandemic. I never accepted that it was my responsibility to make other people feel safe. No one helps me feel safe. That's my job.

My resistance to the “other’s perceived safety” requirements was readily apparent in my choice of mandatory face covering. Designed and built by me. It included N95 filters that could be changed easily and one way valved exhaust ports to push my exhalation back into my hair, just under my ears. Why? Because if I am going to build something for a purpose, it will fulfill the purpose, no matter how stupid said purpose is.

Funny thing is, I regularly had to take it off and show store managers that it was fully functional even though in New Mexico, the governor’s bullshit health rules only required a “Face Covering”, not a system capable of filtering the air. This mask fully filtered the air (not at the sub micron level that would be needed to filter out viruses [narratively speaking, of course], of course) and removed the co2, moisture, etc. that otherwise would make an N-95 dangerous for the wearer.

My showing the idiot grocery store hall monitors this, required me removing the mask and breathing all over them. I would also make sure to cough while giving the demonstration. Why? Because fuck anyone who willingly volunteers to join the semi professional junior gestapo league.

Lyrics-

Once again they’re lying and once again we’re dying.
Why the hell are you still crying? Try denying and defying.
I don't mean to be unkind. Fluoride has calcified your mind.
Break it open, you will find, they've left us all behind.
Well, let me tell you why Hell fell from the sky.
Expel this well of lies or the bell will tell us when to die.
You cry that danger nears, we must give them more control.
You act as if your fears are worth more than my soul.
Do you really think that I'd submit, so you may feel secure?
Do you really think that I'd commit what my honor can't endure?
They've sacrificed the young and they have sold the old for gold.
In cowardice you held your tongue as others paid the toll.
Will you delay your final breath by ignoring all their crimes.
Only once will I face death. You'll die a thousand times.
Though the human race is run, I must remind us all.
That justice must be done although the heavens fall.
So, do not waste your tears or watch the world grow dim.
Life’s not measured in years, but by the deeds within.
A message to my foe, Just to let you know.
You know that blood you owe, it must begin to flow.
With sword, ax, and bow, we're coming from below.
You reap what you sow and now there's no place left to go.
Though the human race is run, I must remind us all.
That justice must be done, although the heavens fall.
So, do not waste your tears or watch the world grow dim.
I do not measure life in years, but by the deeds within.
Do not shame and blame. In this game we're all the same.
Divide, inflame was their aim. We must remain untamed.

We must remain untamed.
