John Chapter 2-
The Temple Turnabout!
As Passover neared the great city grew tight.
With pilgrims and merchants from morning to night.
Jesus went up to the temple so tall.
What he found there made Him answer a call.There were sellers of animals, sheep, cattle, doves.
Money changers at tables giving rates nobody loves.
So he braided a whip. Yes, Jesus took time.
He chased out the merchants “Worship, not crime!”Coins clattered and scattered all over the floor.
He flipped over tables and showed them the door.
To the sellers he shouted, “Get out! Can’t you see?
My Father’s house isn’t a place to charge a fee!”His friends all remembered an old holy phrase.
“Zeal for your house will consume me those days.”
The leaders all gasped and then demanded a sign.
“What gives you the right to clean house like it’s thine?”Jesus said calmly, “Though this temple were razed.
l would build it back fully in only three days.”“Three days? That’s wild!” the crowd quickly laughed.
“This place took forty-six years to build the top half!”But Jesus, of course, meant his body, not stone.
A temple of flesh. Not of bricks, but of bone.
Later, when Jesus arose from the grave,
His words brought his strength to the brave.Many believed, for the signs were profound.
He healed. He taught. He turned lives around.
But Jesus was cautious. He trusted no man.
For he knew their hearts and each hidden plan.No one could fool him with sweet talk or song.
For he saw the truth. He’d known it all along.
