Quick quiz- at the center of a 4 way intersection lies a $1,000 bill. At each of the ways stands these 4 things, respectively: Safe, Security, Privacy, and Santa Claus. Which one will be the first to reach the $1,000 bill? The tweaker in the bushes will reach it first, because the other 4 things are hallucinations that have no real world identity. Sadly, the tweaker does not gain the value of the $1,000 bill because at the last moment, he merely trips over it while trying to steal a quarter out of Santa’s pocket.
Why would I tell you such a cliched joke? I’m not willing to write fresh material to cover a topic that should be well within the general public’s general knowledge and understanding, but let us rehash reality.
It does not matter which browser, operating system, or device you choose based on their claimed capacity to keep your information private and secure because at present there is no way to keep your system from recording everything you do and uploading that data to the worst of the worst people on Earth.
If you use a ghost/black/independent device your anonymity is akin to a plane landing at O'Hare at rush hour without a transponder signal or any communication with the control tower. Sure, your device is not spying on you. That means that every other device is now looking for you and spying on you. You still need to connect to towers and the different services so you are brightly visible as an invisible point of interest. You are trackable by your lack of identifying details and therefore you are simply tracked in a different way.
Sorry. It sucks. I know. I wish things were different. I also wish I had a pony. I’ll get over the lack of both immediately and you should, too.
Why is this? Well, please watch this video for the intro-
and then for the post grad education, this quick series-
I have no idea why my hip tattoos are the main photo for that one, but I think it was a marketing decision, so I am going to leave it.
Phew, I was honestly worried it was going to be more of my tattoos and not all of them are in family friendly places….
The History of Trusted Computing Part 3
The history of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is marred by a number of negative aspects that cannot be ignored. Firstly, the TCG was formed in 2003 as a consortium of technology companies** with the aim of developing and promoting hardware-based security technologies. However, the group's activities have been criticized for being too focused on the i…
At this point, you should know 3 important details
The “Tech Bros” took over years ago. Any new “Tech Bro” offensive or mobilization is merely a plotline being played out as a distraction.
The granular data that is you in this universe has been identified, cataloged, and recorded with such impeccable accuracy, that you could be recreated in a simulation an infinite number of times and they would all feel that they were the real you.
I love the Insane Clown Posse. 1
If you somehow failed to learn any of that information, please take the trip back to the top of this post and begin again with renewed vigor and enthusiasm.
Thank you.
And here are some flash cards to help you learn.
ps. If you got this far, hopefully you noticed that #2 was not part of the lesson plan. That was just a ruse to cycle a few people back through the lessons to ensure that the info sticks this time. I will explain why you are not “just dust in the wind” in a future post.
I like to hit people with the “All is lost” lessons before I hit them with the “But it’s just a ride” solution.
It works better that way.
If I do it the other way, the despair and hopelessness do not creep in and then, who even are we?
